Design Approach

This was an experimental project at inception, that was very successful on completion. The client for this project was very particular on three items: use of local technology, use of local materials and use of local labor with carbon net zero as the main theme. This cold room is predominantly made of timber, which is local, the insulation material is straw bales, while the exterior envelope is made of eco boards which is made of recycled paper waste.
We're proud to have been part of this experimental yet successful project, as this cold room has been and still is of service to traders in Homa Bay municipal market offering storage solutions and minimizing agricultural waste.
